Do you think Finland could be a more inclusive country for internationals?

Are you frustrated by the barriers that make it hard for non-Finnish speakers to feel truly at home here? This is your chance to be part of the change. Join Green Sisu, the English-language branch of the Green Party!

As the chair of Green Sisu, I put my effort into building bridges between political actors and Finland's diverse international communities. I also deeply believe in collaborating across party lines to achieve meaningful change.

Our society benefits from diverse experiences and ideas, and I believe it’s time for politics to reflect the full diversity of the Finns of today.

About Me

I am a proud father of a five-year-old, a dedicated advocate for an international and inclusive Finland, and a community builder and bridge-maker by nature.
Whether in politics, civil society, or professional networks, I believe in working collaboratively to create structures that support people and participation.

Seventeen years ago, I chose the Greens out of frustration with Helsinki’s inadequate cycling infrastructure. What keeps me in the Greens is the party’s commitment to the environment and science-based policymaking.

In my political thinking, the following principles stand out:

  • The Greens must be a broad-based general-interest party (including credible economic and social policy positions) in order to effectively advance our core themes of environmental protection and equality.

  • In an increasingly polarised political climate, we must have the stamina to swim against the current and seek understanding across differing perspectives, experiences, and value systems.

  • The Greens must hold firmly to a forward-looking, visionary approach that is grounded in science and research.

In the Greens, I am currently the chair of Green Sisu. Previously, I have served on the board of the Science and Technology Greens Viite and contributed to the Green programme work:

  • Deep Tech Working Group chair (2024–2025)

  • Program Development Reform Group member (2024–2025)

  • Economic Policy Working Group chair (2022–2023)

  • Information Society Working Group chair (2019–2021)

My approach is always centred on people and communities. Also, in politics, I work with people from different backgrounds and expertise to shape well-rounded positions on diverse matters. I have a good track record of building communities and making things happen in areas I am passionate about. I was a pioneer in promoting open public data in Finland and co-founded MyData Global, an international NGO advocating for human-centric personal data. Today, in my day job at Technology Industries of Finland, I help Finnish companies leverage data and AI.

Outside of family, work, and politics, you might find me cycling around the city with my cargo bike or sweating at the box.
