The first YT OPEN SPACE CLUB dives into the endless layers of love.
Soft / fierce / forbidden / complex / passionate / holy / bitter / compassionate / vulnerable / faithful / free / lustful / tender / powerful / caring / desperate / destructive / distant / radiant

There are as many ways of loving as there are ways of being. Some of them will be shared on 26 February.

Organised three times during the spring, the YT Open Space Club will take place at Ylioppilasteatteri (Helsinki Student Theatre) in the centre of Helsinki. Each club will have its own theme with an hour of performances. After the performances, the stage will be open for anyone to perform, as the Open Space will be hosted.

You can inform us about your performance in advance at ytopenspaceclub@gmail.com,
or on the night of the event. The duration of each performance can be max. 10 minutes. Please let us know about your wishes regarding the use of sound or lighting equipment, and others such as the space and props. Please let us also know if filming or photographing your performance is not allowed. All information will be available in English, although performances can happen in any language.

The performances at the clubs can be anything from poems, spoken word, rap, animation, performance art, dance, installations, sound, music to anything in between. The aim is to provide a safe and easy place for artists to experiment with new things and ideas. For other participants the evening is a relaxed and open event where you can meet new people and get to see new and interesting art.

YT Open Space Club provides a central but hidden theatre space for people to reach. The purpose of the club is to bring people closer together, and to create a space for self-definition. YT Open Space Club is not a place for making assumptions about another's identity, birthplace, gender or sexual orientation. Please do not take pictures of people without permission. The club is free from all kind of discrimination and strives to break down the structures that maintain privileges, prejudices and other forms of oppression.

Accessibility information:

The address of the accessible entrance is Mannerheimintie 3B. The front door is not automatic and there is a small threshold (3cm). There is a lift and Ylioppilasteatteri is located on the 4th floor. Please call us in case you need assistance at the entrance or the studio door. The number is 045 348 1555.

The space has unisex bathrooms. There is a threshold at the door and the stalls are 56cm at the narrowest.
