Tapahtumasta:

In this online cooking class chef Sheela Narasimharao will show you how to cook Maharashtran street food! You will see how to prepare a fast food dish straight from sizzling South Indian food stalls: vada pav, a vegan bun. You will also learn how to prepare Indian tea with the flavorful masala chai drink! Read on for more information on the food.
When the class begins, you will find a high quality video recording on the Facebook page. You can ask any questions about the recipe or cooking from Sheela in the video’s comment section, and she will write you back with immediate feedback. You’ll get the most out of the class by cooking along and asking questions, but you can also participate by simply watching.
The instruction is in English, but you are free to ask questions also in Finnish in the comments.
The dishes:
Vada pav is a Maharashtrian vegan fast food dish. The dish consists of a deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav) along with chutney and a green chilli pepper. The popularity of this dish has grown leaps and bounds and it is now served in food stalls and restaurants across India.
Masala chai is a flavoured tea beverage made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices. Originating in the Indian subcontinent is widely consumed all over India. This drink is traditionally prepared as a decoction of green cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, ground cloves and ground ginger together with black tea leaves. Sipping masala chai early in the morning makes our day refreshing.
