K-pop World Festival on Korean ulkoministeriön, kanavayhtiö KBS:n ja kulttuuri-, urheilu- ja matkailuministeriön järjestämä vuosittainen tanssi- ja laulukilpailu. Tämän maailmanlaajuisen kilpailun semifinaali järjestetään tänä vuonna ensimmäistä kertaa myös Suomessa, Kulttuuriareena Glorialla Helsingissä 7.6. Kisan finaalit pidetään Koreassa lokakuussa 2014.

Suomen semifinaalin voittajaesitys laitetaan videona nettiin ja kpop-fanit ympäri maailman äänestävät jokaisen maan semifinalisteista 10 ryhmää, jotka kilpailevat finaaliesityksessä Koreassa. Finalistien kaikki matkakulut Koreaan ja Koreassa maksetaan ja finalistit esiintyvät samalla lavalla kpop-artistien kanssa tuhatpäiselle yleisölle!

Osallistumisohjeet:

- Tanssiryhmässä tulee olla vähintään kaksi (2) jäsentä, tanssissa sooloesiintyjät eivät voi osallistua tähän kilpailuun.
- Laulussa sooloesiintyjät ovat hyväksyttyjä.
- Molemmissa kategorioissa kappalevalinnan on oltava korealaista poppia.
- Kellään kilpailijalla ei saa olla Korean kansalaisuutta.
- Jokaisen kilpailijan on oltava valmis matkustamaan Koreaan lokakuussa mikäli he voittavat Suomen semifinaalin ja loppuäänestyksessä voittavat finaalipaikan.
- Semifinaaliin päästäkseen tanssiryhmien/laulajien tulee osallistua esikarsintoihin.
- Esikarsintoihin osallistuineista tanssiryhmistä/laulajista valitaan 15 parasta ja he pääsevät kilpailemaan semifinaaliin Kulttuuriareena Glorialle.

Esikarsinta:

- Jokaisen osallistujan tulee videoida vähintään kahden minuutin pätkä ryhmästään tanssimassa/laulamassa. Videossa on oltava mukana kaikki ryhmän jäsenet.
- Kappalevalinnan ei tarvitse olla se, jonka tanssiryhmä/laulaja esittäisi semifinaalissa. Koreografia voi olla jokin, jonka ryhmä/laulaja osaa jo ennestään. Tavoitteena on saada käsitys kilpailioiden taidoista yleisesti.
- Videon voi lähettää sähköpostilla (alle 15mb) tai laittaa Youtubeen (yli 15mb). Videon ei tarvitse olla kaikille näkyvä, kunhan esikarsinnan suorittavat tuomarit pystyvät sen katsomaan.
- Esikarsinta päättyy 11. toukokuuta. Semifinalistit julkistetaan 19. toukokuuta.
- Esikarsinta suoritetaan sähköpostihakemuksella. Lisätietoja hakemuksesta alla.

Semifinaali:

- Semifinaalissa tuomaristo arvioi esitykset paikan päällä ja valitsee kolme parasta esiintyjää pisteytysjärjestelmällä.
- Semifinaalin voittanut esitys laitetaan muiden maiden semifinaalivoittajien mukana nettiin ja ihmiset ympäri maailman äänestävät semifinalisteista finaaliin pääsevät kilpailijat.
- Kymmenen (10) esitystä, jotka ovat maailmanlaajuisesti saaneet eniten ääniä, pääsevät Koreaan finaaleihin.

Hakemus:

Hakemuksen tulee sisältää seuraavat tiedot:

- Osallistuvan ryhmän nimi
- Ryhmän henkilömäärä, jokaisen ryhmäläisen nimi ja ikä
- Kummassa kategoriassa ryhmä kilpailee, tanssi vai laulu
- Kappale minkä ryhmä aikoo esittää semifinaalissa
- Linkki (mielellään Youtube) tai liite (alle 15mb) videoon, jossa ryhmä esiintyy tai laulaa. Näytteen ei tarvitse olla kpop-cover tai virallista koreografiaa.
- Hakemus tulee lähettää osoitteeseen kpopworldfestival@gmail.com. Otsikoksi: Esikarsintahakemus

Kilpailuun osallistuminen on ilmaista. Semifinaaleihin pääsevät myös katsojat, paikkoja rajoitetusti.

The K-pop World Festival annual k-pop singing and dancing competition is organized by South Korea's Ministry of Foreign affairs, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea (MCST) and The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). This year auditions for this global competition will be held in Finland as well. The finals of the competition are held in South Korea in October 2014.

The performance that wins/win Finland's semifinals will be put online where k-pop fans all over the world have a chance to vote for their favourite performance. Out of each participating countries' semifinalists, 10 finalists for each category will be chosen to perform in the finals in South Korea. The traveling expenses of the finalists will be paid for and the finalists will have a chance to perform on the same stage as k-pop artists to thousands of people!

Participation information:

- Each dance performance group must have a minimum of two (2) members, solo performers cannot participate in the dance performance category.
- Solo performances are allowed in the singing category.
- In both categories, the performance song must be k-pop.
- Participants cannot hold a Korean citizenship.
- Each participant needs to be ready and eligible to travel to South-Korea in October in case they win Finland's semifinals and are then chosen in the next round to perform in the finals.
- To be able to enter the semifinals, each competing performer/group must apply and be accepted through the preliminary auditions (more information below).
- 15 groups/performers will be chosen during the preliminary auditions who will then perform in the semifinals at Kulttuuriareena Gloria in June.

Preliminary auditions:

- Each competing participant/group must make a video of a minimum of 2 minutes where they showcase their singing/dancing skills. In case of a group, the video must contain all group members.
- The song performed in the video does not have to be the song performed at the semifinals. In case of dancing, the choreography does not have to be kpop or the final performance. The aim of the video is to display the general skill level of the participants.
- The video can be sent with the application by email (max 15mb) or put on Youtube (over 15mb) and it then must be linked with the application. The video does not have to be public for everybody to see, just make sure the judges of the preliminary auditions are able to see your video.
- The preliminary auditions end the 11th of May. The semifinalists will be announced the 19th of May.
- The preliminary auditions are held by email applications. Details below.

Semifinals:

- During the semifinals, all performances will be judges on event day by judges. They will choose the top 3 performances in each category through a scoring system.
- The winner/winners of the semifinal will have their performance posted online where people around the world can vote for the performances they would like to see in the finals.
- Ten (10) performers/groups in each category who get the most votes will be chosen to participate in the final round in South Korea.

Preliminary audition application:

The application must include the following information:

- The name of the group/performer
- Number of performers, age and full name of each performer
- Which category the group/performer primarily competes in, dancing or singing. In case a performer/group does both, one primary category must be chosen.
- A link (preferably Youtube) or an e-mail attachment (under 15mb) to the video that showcases the groups/performer's singing or dancing skills. The video does not have to showcase kpop-covers or kpop related choreography.

Participating in this competition is free of charge. Audience is allowed to come watch the semifinals, limited amount of attendance and seating.
