Close Encounters keskiviikon spektaakkeli nähdään mbarissa Helsingin ytimessä, jossa helmikuisena iltana kuullaan musiikkia lämpimien sisätilojen lisäksi myös LÄMMITETYLLÄ ja KATETULLA TERASSILLA! Tule paikan päälle nauttimaan talvisesta terassista ja tsekkaamaan kotimaisia ja kansainvälisiä nousevia artisteja.

To the City, to the World is filled with great feelings and stories full of life. The band gathered around the singer-songwriter Marko combines pop, r’n’b and country elements to their music – without forgetting rock. Five-membered band sings stories about the waves of life and is prepared to share them with the whole city – and the world.

SINIAALTO

Siniaalto was founded in 2002 by Ilai Rämä, Teemu Halmkrona and Tuomas Mettänen. Music of Siniaalto has been described as psychedelic ambient music. It is filled with different colours, moods and landscapes and it keeps the listener's mind awake.Siniaalto has gained reputation by using old synthesizer gear from different continents of the world. Theremin, Rhodes, dual Juno 6:s and different analog synthesizers are the root of their music.
Siniaalto has released 3 full length albums and one 7" vinyl single and also one album available only from internet. The cover art for the albums are painted by Jussi Löf.

JOHNNY GOT IT WRONG (SOLO)

Johnny Got It Wrong is Helsinki based five-piece touring band. At the mbar happening singer-songwriter Teppo Tuomisto plays acoustic pop/folk music as a soloist. Melodies and lyrics invite the listener to the landscape filled with dreams, hope and fundamental questions about life itself. At the moment Johnny Got It Wrong is recording their first album.

SLOW FLORA

SLOW FLORA is a newcomer band that has its origins in Helsinki. The trio combines a variety of different genres. With acoustic instruments and abelton live they make a mix of electro, folk, and ambient, witch sums up to an electronic soundscape that differs from the current genres and gives you a new one to explore.

ELISABETH

Elisabeth is a charismatic young singer-songwriter with a passion for cinematic music. Her voice and music is both strong and fragile and it can take you to the most amazing places – if you just let it. With the band she creates strong ambiences and combines them with strong melodies. Her music floats between organic and electro elements and also cinematic indie-pop.

KIKI-O

KIKI-O on viiden nuoren muusikon yhtye, joka esittää Kirsi-Marja Harjun musiikkia. Kappaleet ovat pieniä tarinoita arjen pienistä hetkistä ja oivalluksista, ja musiikissa on vaikutteita mm. popista, jazzista ja suomalaisesta kansanmusiikista. Persoonallinen, mutta silti luonnollinen lopputulos syntyy Kikin mielenmaisemien lisäksi jokaisen soittajan mukanaan tuomista näkemyksistä ja vaikutteista, musiikillisista elementeistä, joiden mukana kukin on kasvanut. KIKI-O vie sinut matkalle
Helsingin keskustan suojateiltä aina mariaanien hautaan asti, saatat matkalla törmätä vaikka
oraviin tai delfiineihin!

JACOB MCCASLIN

Jacob McCaslin is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. At the moment the young award-winning artist is studying at the Berklee College of Music. His career got a jump start from winning the One Song One Chance songwriting competition and after that the band has released two EPs and the album Cautionary Tales. Artist’s influences are based on soul- and blues music while developing to a modern expression.
