Helsinki Reggae Festival 2016

The 24th annual Helsinki Reggae Festival is a tribute to where reggae lives, dancehall culture. Traditionally HRF is about live bands and real reggae music, but this year we are celebrating the part of Jamaican culture where it all happens, the dancehall. Dancehall music is an offspring of reggae, but dancehall culture is so much more than just the music. Dancehall is big sound systems, selectas and MC's, dancers, style and fashion. In the dancehall you hear music from ska to reggae to RnB to rap to dancehall, while the selectas, artists and MCs interact with the crowd and the dancers like you've never seen before. Once you go you know!

DJ ENGLISH FIRE of Black Chiney Sound (USA/UK) is one of the best dancehall selectas in the world. Loved by dancers and soundboys alike, he is guaranteed to lit up the dance.

RAAPPANA and POUTA SOUND are real ambassadors of dancehall culture in Finland. Raappana started his artist career on the mic with a sound system and is one of Finland's few original dancehall artists.
