EGE - In a dynamic relation
Ege is a newly formed group exploring the dynamic relationship between traditional music and contemporary compositions. Ege highlights the fact that every song has its own unique character and experiments with the ways in which the same songs may be transformed in diverse ways. A song may vary in style, according to the direction the musicians want to take it in, and to what the song itself asks them, without altering the spirit or overall feeling of music.
Welcome to share in our experiment and enjoy music from the Mediterranean Area, partly composed in Finland.

Murat Ermutlu (Turkey) - Bendir, Daire, Darbuka
John Millar (New Zealand) - Clarinet, Ney

Vasileios Katopodis (Greece) - Oud, Guitar
Sibelius Academy’s Global Music Programme embraces cultural diversity and aims to educate multi-skilled, creative musicians and educators with a strong understanding of intercultural collaboration and global responsibility. With intercultural collaboration at the heart of the programme, students develop the ability to perform, communicate, collaborate, facilitate and lead in a wide range of musical, cultural and socially engaged contexts. The term ‘Global Music’ is viewed in the broadest sense, incorporating multi-disciplinary and collaborative approaches alongside traditional and contemporary forms of artistic expression.
